Members of the organising group are working to widen the consensus around the vision document and to develop alliances between community organisations, trade unions, politicians, Faith leaders and other focused interests necessary to advance equality, inclusion and social justice for all.
There has been a very positive response to both the draft manifesto and the invitation to join us in advancing the vision and goals. We are very keen to build on the momentum and would welcome an opportunity to present and debate the manifesto with interested groups.
We would welcome an opportunity to speak at upcoming events which organisations may be planning or indeed we would be very happy to liaise with organisations who may be interested in organising a seminar at a local or regional level.
Please contact Anne Costello if you wish to discuss the possibilities.
* Is Féidir Linn is an ad hoc grouping of individuals with a commitment or involvement in community development, social inclusion, anti-poverty and equality issues.

Updates From Members
Debt and Development Coalition recently launched a new book 'Driving the Getaway Car? Ireland, Tax and Development', written on behalf of its member organisations by Dr Sheila Killian of the University of Limerick.
'Driving the Getaway Car?' explains how impoverished countries lose billions of euro through weak domestic tax collection capacities and through unjust international tax structures. Transfer pricing abuse is highlighted as a particular area of concern. This is when subsidiaries of the same multi-national company artificially set the prices of goods and services in order to minimise their tax bills, often through the use of secrecy jurisdictions, popularly known as tax havens. This illegal practice is very difficult to monitor and costs impoverished countries billions in lost tax revenue.
